After a lengthy COVID-related delay, a restaurant called Sugar Loaf appears close to be taking shape in Central City. According to documents filed with the City of New Orleans, an occupational business license for Sugar Loaf has been filed for 1723 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd. The building is owned by local development company Talebloo Properties, and it appears people from the development company will be behind Sugar Loaf as well. Documents also filed with the city revealed that renovations to the property were significantly delayed by COVID. The pandemic also likely delayed plans to go forward with the restaurant.

Talebloo Properties has successfully developed other properties into restaurants, according to the company’s official Instagram account. Notably, Talebloo has developed or taken ownership of the locations for the popular modern Indian restaurant Saffron NOLA and the Balcony Bar & Café, both of which are located in Uptown.
