Sharks Fish & Chicken is a family-owned quick-service chain that is set to open a new location in Lafayette. According to franchise operator Abdallah Habiboulah, the upcoming location at 312 Jefferson Blvd. in Lafayette is currently undergoing renovations and will open on May 15. Habiboulah added that he is currently scouting locations in and around New Orleans for another location.
With 15 locations in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Chicago, Sharks Fish & Chicken is a regional chain specializing in its namesake proteins, including fried catfish and chicken wings. Dinner portions include sides like fried okra and corn nuggets. Sharks also sells large family-pack serving sizes. The Lafayette location will be in a former Burger King, and Habiboulah said it’s been difficult finding a similar vacant building in the New Orleans area.
