While some pickleball facilities put a major focus on hospitality, Pickleball Kingdom puts its focus squarely on the rapidly growing sport, and a new location of the pickleball company is being planned for Livingston Parish. One of the most unique aspects of Pickleball Kingdom is the PodPlay camera and scoring system that allows players to check instant replays and receive a video of their entire match.
“It’s something that this area doesn’t have yet,” Ransom Pipes, a real estate broker with Maestri-Murrell, Inc. who is involved in the development, recently told What Now New Orleans.
He added that the location inside a former big-box store in Walker is ideally suited for a Pickleball Kingdom setup. The indoor space will be climate-controlled, offering comfortable year-round recreation.
“In some of these big box spaces,” Pipes said, “the support columns aren’t always conducive for the courts. But, the layout for the courts works really well there, and we’re actually able to fit 16 indoor courts.”
In addition to courts, there will also be a concessions stand serving light snacks, energy drinks, soft drinks, and a few alcoholic beverages. However, there won’t be a proper kitchen or dining area. Construction of the space has just started, and an opening date is scheduled for the end of this year or the start of 2026.
