Franchisee Scott Carlton has had such success operating a Dickey’s Barbecue Pit location in Baton Rouge that the company tapped him to rescue three under-performing stores in Mississippi. Now, the barbecue chain’s Mr. Fix-It plans to open more locations in the Capital Region and Ascension Parish. According to a report from 225, Carlton is planning to open two Baton Rouge locations by the end of 2026 and hopes to have at least one open by the end of this year. While Carlton plans to grow the Dickey’s brand in Southern Louisiana, the company is plotting a global expansion. It recently opened a location in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, following other openings in Southeast Asia, including in Japan and Singapore.
