After building a following as a pop-up, including featured appearances at Fried Chicken Fest and Beignet Fest, Sweet Legacy NOLA is opening a full-service restaurant in Mid-City at 7935 Forshey St. According to a permit filing with the City of New Orleans, Sweet Legacy will be in the former Next to Eat. An opening date has been set for mid-November.

Sweet Legacy has gotten significant coverage from local media for participating in Fried Chicken Fest and Beignet Fest. In particular, Sweet Legacy’s festival appearances are known for their fried chicken-and-beignets dish with a honey pecan glaze — a play on the popular chicken and waffles.  In addition to running Sweet Legacy, owner Dr. Tierra Alexander is also a social worker who recently successfully defended her PhD thesis at LSU.
