Known for its crave-able Mexican food with more than a bit of modern flair, Tacos del Cartel has been a massive hit in the Greater New Orleans Area. According to the official Tacos Del Cartel website, the restaurant is planning its first foray into the Capital Region and a location is “opening soon” — reportedly in the Perkins Rowe contemporary urban mall.

If the new location is anything like the locations in New Orleans and Metairie, Baton Rouge residents are in for a treat. The restaurant is known for its tortillas that are made from scratch using flour and different types of corn. Tacos del Cartel is also known for its whimsical presentations, including birria tacos served on a miniature clothesline and suspended over a cup of birria broth. The Wow Factor of the food is only matched by the restaurant’s flair-filled craft cocktail program.
