Three Restaurant Concepts Planned for Former Algiers Event Center

The former Celebrations event venue is being transformed into three separate concepts by the same owner.

A former event space in Algiers is being renovated and converted into three separate restaurant concepts. According to filings with the City of New Orleans, the former Celebrations event venue at 2700 General De Gaulle Dr. will become Dee’z Cafe and Donuts, Dee’s Seafood City, and Chicken Box PLUS. Business filings with the state list the same owner for all three concepts. What Now New Orleans has reached out for more information.

Celebrations was a popular event venue in Algiers that was forced to close in 2021 when the property where it was located was sold to new ownership. According to a Facebook post, the new owners of the property decided not to extend the Celebrations lease. The official Celebrations page said a new tenant had popped up in the space with a similar name, but the business was not affiliated with the original Celebrations.
