A former fitness center about one mile from Tiger Stadium has been completely transformed into the tropical-themed Pura Vida Coffee Bar, replete with 20-foot palm trees and Mid-Century Modern decor. The first floor features a long bar and a seating area behind that. The second floor area, which overlooks the bar, has lounge seating, a group study area for students, and plenty of chargers for electronic devices.
When it opens in April at 4005 Nicholson Dr. in Baton Rouge, Pura Vida will be a cafe serving different kinds of coffee and matcha drinks. There will also be fresh pastries and savory breakfast options.
