The Texas-based Golden Chick chain is pursuing an aggressive expansion plan across Louisiana, and a new location in Opelousas is scheduled to open this summer. The company recently purchased property in the city and plans to open a new location at 931 Creswell Ln. around August. According to The Advocate, the new Opelousas location is just one piece of the overall expansion plan, as three locations of the popular chicken chain are also being planned for the Shreveport area.
In December, What Now New Orleans reported on a Golden Chick location coming to Lafayette Parish. According to reports, construction of that location will start after the Opelousas location has opened. In addition to various kinds of fried chicken, Golden Chick is also known for its healthy options, including roasted chicken and fresh salads.
