USA TODAY 10BEST invited travel and lifestyle experts to nominate NYC destinations, then opened the selection to a public vote over four weeks. After four weeks, it announced the final names as winners under multiple categories of the USA TODAY 10BEST Readers’ Choice Awards.
USA TODAY 10BEST’s Top Two Shopping Malls
After deliberation by editors of USA TODAY 10BEST and voting by the public, the following two names were chosen as the top two shopping malls.
Hudson Yards
Located in the heart of NYC’s west side, Hudson Yards receives visitors for shopping, entertainment, and dining. The Manhattan-based shopping place opened its doors to the local community in 2019. Views of the Hudson River draw further attention from NYC residents.
Zara, Oyamel, ZZ’s Club, etc., receive a large number of visitors daily.
Brookfield Place
Brookfield Place, in Battery Park City (formerly World Financial Center, opened 1988; rebranded 2014), features over 60 shops, upscale dining, a waterfront plaza, and its signature Winter Garden Atrium, with a glass-domed space showcasing seasonal floral and art installations.

This independent brick-and-mortar bookstore is admired for its romance-focused collection. The Ripped Bodice opened its NYC outlet in the Park Slope neighborhood two years ago.
