Carnegie Diner & Cafe is a Modern American Diner serving all-day breakfast, in addition to lunch, pre-theater and late-night dinner offerings.

Carnegie Diner & Cafe’s flagship location is located diagonally across from Carnegie Hall and due to its popularity, Executive Chef & Owner Stathis Antonakopoulos expanded to open a second location in Secaucus, NJ and now a third in the sprawling space that formerly housed Thalia at 828 8th Avenue (off 50th Street) that will open on June 21st. The new 5,500 square foot location has a capacity for 175 guests inside and an additional 40 outdoors. It will be open from 7am – 1am, 7 days a week.

Executive Chef & Owner Stathis Antonakopoulos has a long history in the hospitality industry, which began at the age of 18, working at his grandfather’s hotel & restaurant in his native country, Greece. Stathis went on to become the Director of Operations at Kellari, which has locations in Midtown West and Washington D.C., and then opened his own restaurant, STIX, in 2012. In addition to running Carnegie Diner & Cafe, he is also the CEO of Carnegie Hospitality, which owns and operates Pizza & Shakes and Carnegie Catering. Stathis also operates three ghost kitchens for delivery including Organic Burger House, NYC Pancake House and NYC Pastrami House.

At Carnegie Diner & Cafe they serve all-day breakfast items like a Classic Benedict with the optional addition of lobster, Avocado Toast, a BLT Quinoa Bowl with chopped bacon and poached eggs, along with Steak and Eggs. There are a dozen types of pancakes on the menu in addition to waffles and French toast. Carnegie Diner & Cafe offers a full plant-based menu. Lunch and dinner entrees include rib eye steak, Atlantic salmon, fish n’ chips, and spaghetti carbonara with a pre-theater menu also available. Desserts include Carnegie Diner & Cafe’s house-made, 24 layer chocolate cake, pies, cupcakes and more.

Specialty beans from Lavazza are used for Carnegie Diner & Cafe’s coffee offerings in addition to having espresso and cappuccino, herbal, black and green teas, hot chocolate and milkshakes on the menu like the Chocolate Pancake Strawberry Milkshake, Brownie Extravaganza and Oreo Cookie Cake Milkshake.

This new Carnegie Diner & Cafe location’s design pays homage to old New York, with images of classic stars like Frank Sinatra, and a mural of Carnegie Hall that spans the length of the dining room. Guests can grab a table in the middle of the action, or opt for a booth which overlooks the street view. Outdoor dining will also be available.
