Last year, Dante inked a deal to bring a new location to a 10,000-square-foot space at 210 Elizabeth Street in Nolita, according to the Commercial Observer.
That spot is now on the way to opening later this year with plans for a wood-fired pizza oven and grill, Eater NY reports. This is one of two projects underway for the Italian brand, which has been around in the city since 1915 and has seen a series of ownership changes over its decades in business.
Dante, now helmed by owners Linden Pride and Nathalie Hudson, has two locations in the city: one along Macdougal Street in Greenwich Village and another location in the West Village. The brand also expanded to Beverly Hills a couple years ago.
It is known for its European-inspired offerings, including seafood, salads, steaks, and wood-fired offerings like roasted branzino and Berkshire pork chop. It also offers a wine list and signature cocktails.
“Dante has been a beacon for the community of Greenwich Village since it opened its doors in 1915. Now a registered New York City landmark, this modest meeting house has always attracted people from all walks of life: famous actors, writers and musicians, to the down-at-heel of the beatnik generation, all of whom have found solace in its relaxed and unpretentious environs. A place where a cup of espresso, a warm smile or a friendly embrace epitomized life’s simple pleasures,” the Dante website states.
In addition to the Nolita spot, Dante is opening another location in the West Village, as previously reported by What Now New York.
The ownership was not immediately available to comment.
