Private members club Moss will open at 520 Fifth Ave. this coming fall, according to the brand’s Instagram page.
“Moss’s corner of Fifth Avenue is the nexus of many overlapping worlds. We’re the gateway to the Theater District and neighbors with the New York Public Library. Bryant Park is our front yard, Central Park is our backyard and Grand Central is practically next door,” the Moss website states. “Every side street holds hidden gems tucked away among iconic landmarks. This magical combination of the undiscovered and the unforgettable makes Midtown feel like the center of it all.”
The club will span five floors and will include meeting areas, a sports court, a stage, a private event room, a recording studio and a sauna. It will also feature a restaurant called Babette, a concept they are creating in partnership with Danny Meyer’s Union Square Events, according to Eater NY.
Moss centers around the concepts of “intelligent leisure” and “physical culture,” according to its website. Intelligent leisure will include an “open invitation to gather friends and play with ideas” through events like art exhibitions, supper clubs and musical performances.
Moss’s physical culture will manifest in its offerings for movement and exercise. To fulfill this purpose, the five-floor private club will feature a two-level, 20,000-square-foot Bedrock Aquatics & Athletics facility, which will be dedicated to fitness, wellness and athletics. It will house the sauna, as well as a cold plunge studio.
Colleen and Hailey Brooks are the team behind the new venture. They are not new to the social club space — they previously founded Highcourt Leisure Club in 2018, but it shut down during the pandemic.
