The team behind the popular Potluck Club is gearing up to open up a new upscale concept in Chinatown’s Bowery neighborhood: Phoenix Palace.

While it was originally reported the restaurant would open early this year, the opening has faced some delays, according to owner Cory Ng. Nevertheless, Ng is optimistic and excited to debut Phoenix Palace to the community by the end of May.

A Chinatown native, Ng achieved great success with Potluck Club’s opening in 2022, with locals and visitors alike favoring its contemporary takes on Chinese staples. Now, with Potluck Club’s sister restaurant set to open within two months, Ng has stated that the new restaurant will offer dishes even more innovative than those offered at Potluck, like “Cantonese tapas” and “Chinese charcuterie boards,” Eater New York reports.

“We are excited to open as soon as possible,” he said.
