Tompkins Square Bagels has secured a fifth location, with plans to open in Independence Plaza on Greenwich and North Moore, as first reported by Tribeca Citizen. The bagel spot shared a post on its Instagram page indicating that the location will open this fall.
Christopher Pugliese is behind the spot, which finds its roots in the East Village. The Independence Plaza location will join four spots already open, including two in East Village, one in Union Square and one in Lenox Hill.
“Tompkins Square Bagel’s is truly my love letter to the East Village; a place I now call home. I put extreme love, care and that same attention to detail, into every aspect of our shop’s build out,” Pugliese wrote on the website. “TSB is first and foremost a neighborhood shop, built by neighborhood craftsmen and artists, to be enjoyed by neighborhood folks. I wanted TSB to have a warm, homey, welcoming feel similar to the Brooklyn shops I grew up with as a kid.”
Tompkins Square Bagel offers hand-rolled, kettle-boiled and baked bagels. The menu features breakfast sandwiches and other breakfast items, specialty sandwiches, smoked fish, salads, bakery items like muffins and cookies, and coffee and tea.
