An iconic bakery staple has closed its retail outlets in Troy and Clifton Park, marking the end of its two-decade journey. The Cookie Factory confirmed the closure with a social media post. The signature cookies and sweet treats will be available at Hannaford Supermarkets, Stewart’s Shops, and other locations.
The Cookie Factory Closes Retail Stores
Known for its full-service bakery menu, The Cookie Factory offered signature cookies like fudge fantasies, black and white chocolate cookies, and Italian specialties. The bakery also had a wide range of breakfast options, which included fresh-baked bagels, house-whipped cream cheese, and pastries and muffins.
The bakery owners shared news of the closure on social media on August 25. The owners wrote a long and emotional farewell message for longtime customers and community members.
They said that after 20 wonderful years of service, the Cookie Factory retail stores have permanently shut down.
According to the Times Union report, due to financial struggles, The Cookie Factory has closed its retail locations in Troy and Clifton Park.
While the retail stores are closed, the sweet treats from The Cookie Factory will be available at Hannaford Supermarkets, Stewart’s Shops, and other local stores.
The owners thanked the community and customers for their support and said, “From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for 20 incredible years.”

Legacy of 20 Years
Owned by two brothers, Chris and Joe Alberino, The Cookie Factory was founded in 2006. The store began its journey as a small hometown bakery, and over the years, it grew into a staple name.
Talking about its long journey in the neighborhood, the owners wrote, “We remember the early mornings, the long nights, the holidays, the challenges, the laughter, the friendships, and all of the moments in between. There were certainly difficult days along the way, but there were far more moments that made every bit of it worthwhile.”
Even though The Cookie Factory has closed down, customers will cherish and remember its legacy forever.
