Biaggi’s Ristorante Italiano has confirmed that its Colorado Springs location will not reopen and is now permanently closed.

Biaggi’s Ristorante Italiano on Briargate Parkway in Colorado Springs has announced it will permanently close. The upscale Italian restaurant temporarily closed its doors in November 2025 due to major structural issues. On April 14, Biaggi’s team confirmed it will not reopen.

Biaggi’s Announces Permanent Closure After Months of Uncertainty

Through a social media post, Biaggi’s Ristorante Italiano shared the heartbreaking news of its permanent closure. The community-favorite traditional Italian restaurant at The Promenade Shops at Briargate has been closed since November 2025.

On November 13, 2025, the restaurant team shared, “Unfortunately, due to extensive and compounding plumbing and soil erosion issues, we are forced to temporarily close for an extended period of time for major repairs.”

In the post, the team assured that the closure was only for a limited period. However, on April 14, the restaurant announced, “With a heavy heart, we are sharing that our Colorado Springs location will not be reopening and is permanently closed.”

After assessing the damage, the company determined the required repairs were too extensive to move forward.

“We held onto hope that we could welcome you back, but unfortunately, the scope of repairs required makes that no longer possible,” said the team.

More Than Two Decades in Colorado Springs

Todd Hovenden founded the restaurant chain and opened its first location in Bloomington, Illinois. While the Colorado Springs location at The Shops at Briargate opened around 2003. The Briargate location has been a part of the Colorado Springs community for more than two decades.

It served Italian-American cuisine, including a mix of classic pasta dishes, pizzas, salad, and seafood options.

The restaurant is known as a familiar spot for celebrations, casual family dinners, and hearty gatherings. Customers can still visit the nearest Biaggi’s location in Loveland, Colorado.

In the official announcement post, the team mentioned, “All gift cards with a balance are valid for use at any Biaggi’s location.”

Following the announcement, fans shared messages on social media. The closure marks the end of Biaggi’s more than 20-year presence in Colorado Springs.
