A Global Coffee Brand Is Introducing a Butterfly-Inspired Summer Refresher

Starbucks is kicking off summer 2026 with its new refresher, returning horchata-inspired beverages, and a fresh merchandise collection.

Starbucks is officially releasing a vibrant menu lineup to welcome the summer season. Starting today, May 12, 2026, customers can find new refreshers, horchata, and whimsical treats at Starbucks locations. The brand has also introduced a merchandise collection, adding adventure to the season.

Starbucks Releases New Summer 2026 Menu

Starbucks is starting this summer season with a tropical mix of flavors and colorful drinks. The Tropical Butterfly Refresher is a new addition to the seasonal lineup. Horchata-inspired beverages have also returned to the menu.

Made with guava and passionfruit flavors, the Tropical Butterfly Refresher promises to offer a colorful summer refreshment. Mango-pineapple popping pearls add an extra texture to the drink. The drink also contains butterfly pea flower. It has a rich purple-blue color that creates a layered, color-changing effect.

Customers can customize the drink with lemonade or coconut milk. The caffeine and B vitamins can also be adjusted according to customers’ preferred levels.

Starbucks is also bringing back horchata-inspired coffees. Ranging from creamy to cinnamon, depending on the blend, horchata drinks are available for a short time.

The Iced Horchata Shaken Espresso starts with Starbucks Blonde Espresso. It is mixed with horchata syrup, cinnamon, vanilla, and toasted rice flavors, then shaken with ice and topped with oatmilk. The new Horchata Frappuccino has been added to the seasonal menu this year.

Unique Snacks and Roadtrip Merchandise Join the Launch

Beyond its beverages, Starbucks is continuing its summer rollout with fun bites and travel-themed items. The new Unicorn Cake Pop is a bite-sized treat with vanilla confetti cake covered with white chocolate icing and a whimsical unicorn design.

For customers who prefer more savory options, Starbucks is also offering Khloud White Cheddar Protein Popcorn. The snack is a savory and sweet popcorn with a real white cheddar taste and seven grams of protein. The product is an addition to the Khloud Sweet and Salty Kettle Corn Protein Popcorn lineup.

The company is also embracing the summer travel spirit with the launch of its Road Trip Collection. The merchandise celebrates open roads, unplanned stops, and ice-cold beverages on hot summer drives.

The collection includes stainless steel tumblers, cold cup replacements, mugs, tote bags, sticker packs, keychains, and a picnic blanket. The items feature seasonal designs. The collection will be offered at Starbucks U.S. coffeehouses starting today till supplies last.

On May 11, the company rolled out a new “scheduled ordering” function via the Starbucks app. Customers can schedule a pickup time up to one hour ahead. This helps manage busy schedules and cuts down on wait time.
