A Salt Lake City, Utah-based craft brewery has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The latest move demonstrates a difficult phase for the market, with microbreweries facing a slump.
Kiitos Brewing, LLC intends to reorganize its finances through the process as it faces a large gap between total assets and liabilities. Several documents, including a federal income tax summary and balance sheet, have already been filed with the court.
Kiitos Brewing, LLC, Enters Bankruptcy
According to case filings on the PACER database, the debtor filed voluntarily on April 24, 2026. The Chapter 11 Subchapter V filing aligns with the broader downturn in the U.S. craft beer market.
According to a study by the Brewers Association, craft beer production across the country fell by 5.1% in 2025, with around 60% of breweries reporting a decline. Among these, at 8.9%, microbreweries, such as Kiitos Brewing, LLC, have faced the greatest impact.
The study adds that brewery closures are now outpacing new openings nationwide.
Against this backdrop, several financially strained companies, including the latest debtor, have moved toward restructuring.
