J King Neptune’s is a bar and eatery known for its live music and seafood. The restaurant gives both dine-in and take-out options throughout the week. The restaurant has been operating for over 50 years, offering a variety of dishes, including seafood.
A routine health inspection conducted at the restaurant revealed multiple violations in the premises. The intensity of violations led to the decision to temporarily close the facility.
Violations Which Led to the Closure of the Restaurant
The primary issue observed by the inspection officer at J King Neptune’s was the unavailability of the Food Manager Certificate. The report noted that the kitchen’s handwashing sink was obstructed and that live roaches were observed in the facility.
As per the inspection report, encrusted food residue was observed on the tongs. Raw beef was observed stored over ready-to-eat food items within the reach-in coolers. So, the officer instructed the staff to keep food items separated and protected.
During the inspection, accumulation of grease was noticed on the utensils, and unnecessary equipment was stored. The inspection report mentions that the restaurant has to be vermin-proof, the facility in an approved manner. Employee items were observed stored next to food/equipment, which should be kept in a separate room.
The restaurant had to face an immediate health permit suspension followed by closure. All the out-of-compliance practices have to be resolved to avoid any critical risk factors and follow good retail practices.
