La Exquisita Michoacana LLC specializes in traditional Michoacán-style desserts. The establishment has been unable to successfully pass recent health inspections and remains closed for an extended period. After the reinspection was conducted, it was decided that the shop would continue to remain closed. The decision was made after cockroaches were found inside the shop.

Inspectors reported that two live cockroaches were found on the floor in the food preparation area. In the back food prep area, several dead cockroaches were found, and some were also found on the sticky trap. In the front food preparation area, dead cockroaches were found.

Inspectors ordered a thorough cleaning and sanitization of affected areas. Also, the person in charge was asked to seal entry points, to remove and prevent any further pest presence using approved procedures. The PIC was also provided with an Effective Management of Cockroach Pamphlet to ensure that all corrective measures will be taken according to approved methods. A detailed health report on the recent inspection can be found online.

Follow-Up Inspection

Another reinspection will be conducted upon request. The inspection report outlines the corrective actions required before reinspection. The ice cream shop can restart operations once it passes the reinspection. Meanwhile, the management can request a hearing within the next 15 days to show why their permit suspension is not warranted.
