It offers a wide variety of drinks and snacks, along with a unique coin purse painting activity that is especially popular with children.

Orange County Health Care Agency Environmental Health Division recently conducted a routine health inspection at Micha Boba Tea Bar on September 10. The tea bar was immediately shut down, and its health permit was temporarily suspended after it failed to comply with regulations and was found to have major health and safety violations.

The officials observed live and dead cockroaches around the establishment, including the food preparation area and kitchen. Food was stored on the floor, employees were not using designated handwashing sinks, and trash bins were left uncovered, according to the official report.

The report also cited gaps and holes in the walls, pipes, and ceilings of the establishment. A faulty faucet and a leak were also observed during the inspection.

The officials advised the Tea Bar to use approved pest control measures to eliminate the cockroach infestation and clean out and sanitize all affected areas. The eatery also needs to seal all the gaps, cracks, and holes to prevent future infestations. All food items need to be stored 6 inches above the ground as per guidelines.

According to the report, the official closure notice must be displayed at all times. No food or beverage preparation or sales are allowed in the facility without prior written approval from the agency. If pest control services are used, a receipt must be provided to the Environmental Health Specialist during the reinspection request.

Follow-Up inspection

Micha Boba Tea Bar must correct all health code violations before requesting a reinspection. The reinspection will include an additional fee, and the health permit can only be reinstated once compliance is verified.
