Truly Pizza — “a local gathering place providing uncompromising food in a beautiful and welcoming environment” — is opening its first outpost at 24402 Del Prado Ave, Dana Point, CA 92629

The concept is the brainchild of third-generation pizzaiolo John Arena, hotel/casino biz-woman Donna Baldwin, Arena’s World Pizza Champion collaborator and teammate Chris Decker, and Dana Point real estate developer Steve Muller.

The news of Truly Pizza broke back in 2021 when the OC Register told of the team’s intentions to present their vision for a new restaurant to the Dana Point Planning Commission. Things have been pretty quiet since then, and even the brand’s website continues to promote a 2022 debut.

However, five days ago via Instagram, Truly Pizza posted a lighthearted teaser for its patiently-waiting fanbase, explaining that their “pies need a little more time to bake.”

While an official opening date remains unknown — Decker did not respond to our request for comment — it seems likely the incoming eatery will offer passion-infused, high-caliber pizza when its ovens are finally ablaze.
