The Plot — an Oceanside-based, plant-centric restaurant concept by Davin and Jessica Waite — is opening a second outpost at 2937 Bristol Street, unit E100, formerly home to Native Foods, sometime this summer.

Davin Waite, who began his career as a sushi chef before opening The Fish Joint and Wrench & Rodent Seabasstropub, told What Now Orange County that he and his wife Jessica have been fans of The Camp, as well as its sister concept The LAB Anti-Mall, for quite some time now.

“We love their focus on community, small businesses, and sustainability,” says Waite. “We can’t wait to meet our new neighbors [at The Camp]…[the collaboration] just feels like it’s meant to be.”

As for Jessica, she is president of the local non-profit Berry Good Food, sits on the board of One Kitchen Collaborative, and is a member of the San Diego Food System Alliance stewardship panel.

Together, the Waites aim to build businesses that are regenerative — benefitting all partners, community members, and the planet…and that’s exactly what they’ve done with The Plot

The Plot is a lively and inviting restaurant concept offering delicious, high-quality, and sometimes boundary-pushing food that is completely plant-based. The menu consists of items like Carrotfish Tacos, a Beet Ruben Sando, and Polenta & Chorizo.

According to the brand’s website, The Plot will continue expanding, with a Carlsbad location coming next.
