Anaheim-based Broken Timbers Brewing is set to open a second taproom at 116 W Santa Fe Ave in Placentia later this summer, according to co-owner Heide Mahnke.
“We’re excited to share our relaxing, friendly atmosphere with the people of Placentia and beyond, hoping to someday soon call many of them friends,” Mahnke tells What Now OC. “On any given day, people can come in, meet new people, or see people they already know, and enjoy exceptional beers.”
The location was a no-brainer for Broken Timbers, which has an established presence in the community having participated in numerous events and worked with various local organizations.
“From the First Responders to the Chamber of Commerce and the City Staff, we felt instantly welcomed the moment we came into Placentia,” says Mahnke. “The Chamber of Commerce is immensely supportive and includes us in everything.”
What’s more, the brand’s “old west motif” is well-suited to the vibe of Old Town Placentia, which boasts plenty of foot traffic thanks to the surrounding condos, apartments, and restaurants.
With such deep roots in the area, Broken Timbers is able to realize its mission of “contributing to the community by supporting local businesses, events, and charities,” as detailed on its website.
“We’ll always consider expanding but, for now, we are content with our two locations,” says Mahnke.
Broken Timbers Brewing offers some 10 rotating beers on tap that run the gamut from IPA and Belgian Blonde to Stout and Hard Seltzer. It also hosts a litany of events including board game nights, trivia, charcuterie classes, candle-making classes, and live music.
