A local Argentinian steakhouse chain is set to open a new location in Temecula’s historic Old Town, according to Patch. Gaucho Grill is reportedly working with the city to get approval to make modifications to the building at 28645 Old Town Front Street.

The new restaurant will occupy the former Bank of Mexico property, a space that has stood vacant for over a year. This iconic building has housed restaurant concepts since 1978. The hope is that it can open its doors later this year.

Gaucho Grill offers a culinary celebration of Argentinian culture, offering wood-fired steaks, traditional cuts, and innovative craft cocktails. Founded by Adrian Amosa and Kirk Cartozian in 2014 under the banner of Unique Concepts, the business has four current locations in Downey, West Covina, Pasadena, and Buena Park.

There are several other sister eateries in the group’s collection, its website shows. Unique Concepts also operates Gaucho Beach, Gaucho Empanadas, Gaucho Café, Gaucho Mercado, Avenue Pizzeria, and Mandala Bar.
