Asylum Brewing, a popular craft beer destination in Anaheim, has a project in the works that seems to involve adding food service. The venue, at 180 W Elm St Unit A, is listed on construction plans filed with the county.
Founded by Tommy Sebestyen, the brewery has gained momentum since opening and recently celebrated its sixth anniversary. Earlier this year, Asylum relocated to a larger space in the Anaheim Packing District, where it continues to thrive and evolve.
The plan review history shows the initial intake of documents happened in late August. However, more work is needed to meet the necessary standards before the green light is granted, as they are currently listed as “unable to approve plans.” Approval is being sought for a project less than 2,000 square feet.
Asylum Chow Hall is the listed name on the site. This would allow the brewery to broaden its offerings beyond craft beer. Currently, the business has a rotating list of food trucks outside the establishment for patrons who are feeling hungry.
