Mediterranean fast-casual giant CAVA has set its sights on Orange, with plans to open a new restaurant at 2318 N Tustin St., according to county records. The quick service chain is working to receive the necessary approval to move forward with the project.

The Orange County Health Care Agency’s Environmental Health Division received plans for a remodel of a 2,000-square-foot shell back in December. However, the latest status update is marked as “unable to approve”.

Though the opening timeline remains uncertain, CAVA’s Sarah Seale, Communications & PR Specialist for CAVA, confirmed to What Now OC that the brand is working on a store at that address, but that they are “unable to confirm an opening timeline at this stage”.

Maps show that the nearest currently open locations of the chain are in Anaheim, Fullerton, and Irvine. The site was formerly home to Rubio’s Coastal Grill, and it’s next to Yogurtland and Panda Express.
