Utah-based gourmet cookie company, Chip Cookies, is set to make its Huntington Beach debut with an outpost that’s opening near Newland Shopping Center at 19738 Beach Blvd.
Franchisee Kayson Gubler, who is a general contractor by trade, is opening the store with a business partner and told What Now Orange County, “We will be starting the build very soon,” adding, “We are really excited to get it up and going in Surf City!”
Although Gubler stopped short of putting a definitive opening date on the store, they said they “want to be open this summer for sure.”
If necessity is the mother of invention, Chip Cookies fits the bill on more than one level. The company was founded in Provo, UT in 2016 by Sean and Sarah Wilson when Sarah was pregnant with the couple’s first child. As the story goes, “cravings for warm gooey chocolate chip cookies in the middle of the night were a frequent occurrence,” however, “instead of just baking cookies, Sean went to work on a business plan.”
The result was a company that “would deliver warm, gourmet cookies directly to” customers’ doors,” born out of a “desire to deliver happiness, one cookie at a time.”
What’s more, the family all but kickstarted a new wave of cookie shop, with a rotating menu of creations including variations such as a Cookies and Cream Dunk Chip, Sugar Chip and Mini Sugar Chip, the OG and mini OG, and a Biscoff Chip.
“We are so excited to bring the best cookies on Earth to the great people of Huntington Beach,” says Gubler. “Please come in and see us! We’ll have a box of delicious cookies, hot and fresh from the oven waiting for you!”
