Fontana is eagerly anticipating the arrival of Chipotle Mexican Grill as the popular chain prepares for its new establishment. The company is opening a store at 8030 Cherry Ave Ste. 100, according to state records.

An application for a liquor license for the location was submitted and is listed currently as “under review”. There is no information available currently about when the space will open for business, but job postings have been popping up online.

The restaurant, part of a formidable chain with more than 2,700 locations, is joining a retail corridor near Cherry Ave. and Foothill Blvd., which was formerly part of Route 66. It’s a new pad building constructed in 2023.

In a commercial center anchored by WinCo Foods Supermarket, this location will be down the street from the California Speedway and Victoria Gardens shopping mall. There are two existing Chipotles in Fontana, but they are on opposite ends of city borders.
