Fast-casual restaurant chain Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is continuing its rapid expansion with a new location planned in Hemet, according to state records. The QSR brand will be constructing a 2,459 square foot eatery featuring a drive-through at the intersection of W Florida Avenue and Cawston Avenue.

This new development is spearheaded by Salim Development Group, LLC, a family-run enterprise. Led by seasoned franchisee Tahir Salim and his sons Ahmad, Vakas, and Zohaib, he has over 34 years of experience in real estate and restaurant development.

Salim Development Group operates more than 22 restaurant locations and multiple other concepts, PR Newswire reports. The new Hemet outpost is part of a large-scale multi-unit agreement which also includes plans to open a dozen stores in SoCal, and more in Central Florida, Texas, and Ohio.

Founded in 2002 in Wichita, Kansas, Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers has grown to more than 515 locations nationwide, with 94 percent being franchise-owned. The company has shown significant promise in recent years, with Franchise Times placing it at #82 on its list of top brands last year, citing a 14.5 percent sales growth and nearly 13 percent unit growth in 2023.
