A new option for pizza will be coming to Laguna Beach. Grazie Grazie, has filed for an alcohol license to open at 610 N Pacific Coast Hwy #106 sometime in March.

The project will be owned and operated by the Taormina family, with Garrett Taormina taking the lead as chef and pizzaiolo. He’s been putting in the necessary research, too, with a recent stay in Naples that he’s documented on Instagram, during which he studied the city’s native pizza style

While not much is publicly available yet about the Grazie Grazie Pizzeria concept, Taormina has posted that the kitchen will feature state of the art electric deck ovens made by Pizza Master, which might give us a clue to the style of pies that will be available at the restaurant, as these sorts of ovens are more often used for slightly larger, crispier pizzas than those cooked in Naples. While that includes, of course, classic New York style, many artisanal shops, particularly those trading in naturally leavened does, have been tacking out new lines of hybridity between old and new world pizza making. Folks, just over in Costa Mesa, comes to mind.

Grazie Grazie will be in a prime Laguna Beach location right on the PCH and in a well populated shopping center. The space previously housed Gina’s Pizza.
