A new Mochi Dough location will be opening in Irvine at 2626 Dupont Drive, as confirmed by Mochi Dough USA franchise owner Jeremy Moore. The donut joint will be located near Subway and the sushi restaurant Kiwami Sheungshui.

Moore shared during a brief phone call with What Now Orange County that the opening date is up in the air due to the project being “built out” completely. Upon being asked about the slating of the new Irvine location, Moore stated, “Having to wait on permits from the city makes it difficult to know when the exact date will be.”

The franchise owner confirmed that Mochi Dough will be maintaining the same menu style as other locations. Mochi Dough’s most familiar flavors are taro, black sesame, and funnel cake, while other flavors are offered to vary based on the store.

For orders of six dozen donuts or more, Mochi Dough offers catering. At the current time, it does not offer wholesale pricing for donuts, according to its website.

Every Mochi Dough joint has its quirks. Some have ball pits or lofted areas for patrons, others have things like hot air balloons hanging from the ceiling. The signature pastel colors and flowers will be making a comeback at this new location, keeping a familiar vibe to what is showcased on Mochi Dough’s Instagram.

There are currently 21 Mochi Dough stores open throughout the United States.
