Travelers at John Wayne Airport can look forward to a delicious addition to dining options with the pending arrival of Earl of Sandwich. According to the LA Times, the fast-casual chain is part of a broader initiative to revamp the airport’s food offerings.

While it’s unclear when the store will debut, a representative for concession operator HMS Host told What Now OC that the new restaurants will start to roll out next year. Under a new 15-year contract with HMSHost will oversee the development of more than 32,100 square feet of concessions across Terminals A, B, and C.

The Earl of Sandwich space will be a 1,162-square-foot shell. Known for its gourmet sandwiches, the menu boasts a variety of options, from classic roast beef to innovative combinations, all crafted with fresh ingredients and signature artisan bread.

The lore behind the business dates back to 1762 when John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich, invented the sandwich. In 2004, his descendants and restaurateur Robert Earl started the restaurant chain together. Earl of Sandwich has over 30 locations across the United States and a few international spots, including the UK and Dubai.
