Keke’s Breakfast Cafe, a popular Florida-based breakfast and lunch chain, is opening new locations in La Quinta at 79892 Highway 111 and in Rancho Mirage at 36101 Bob Hope Dr., Suite E-8,9.
The La Quinta location will replace the former IHOP, according to a recent liquor license application. Franchise owner Ajay Keshap tells What Now that the restaurant can open any day now, but could not provide a specific date. A second location in Rancho Mirage is expected to open in 2026 at the Rancho Mirage Marketplace, but an exact opening date has also not been announced. Customers at both sites can expect Keke’s signature breakfast and lunch offerings, including fluffy pancakes, stuffed French toast, savory omelets, and freshly made paninis.
Founded in 2006 by brothers Keith and Kevin, Keke’s Breakfast Cafe was inspired by their search for quality breakfast in Philadelphia. The name “Keke” combines the first syllables of the founders’ names. Since then, the brand has expanded across Florida and other states, emphasizing fresh ingredients, generous portions, and fast, friendly service.
Both California locations will follow Keke’s signature approach of made-to-order meals, with coffee ground in-house, hand-cracked eggs, fresh fruit cut daily, and no microwaves used in the kitchen. The cafes are designed to provide a welcoming, casual atmosphere for morning pick-me-ups, leisurely brunches, or lunch visits. Seating will accommodate both individual diners and groups looking for a relaxed dining experience.
Menu highlights include award-winning pancakes, all-day omelets, French toast, paninis, fresh salads, sandwiches, and gluten-friendly and vegetarian options. Beverages include coffee, iced teas, juices, and brunch cocktails. The brand focuses on freshness, quality, and treating every customer like a regular, ensuring consistency across all locations.
