Mediterranean-inspired chain Luna Grill, a SoCal-based business, will be adding Rancho Mission Viejo to its roster in the future. The growing company confirmed to What Now OC that it is working to bring a new restaurant to the city’s Sendero Marketplace 30721 Gateway Place.

Chief Marketing Officer Billy Grenham confirmed the team is targeting a 2027 opening for the location. It will join a list of other thriving tenants in the newly built, 96,000-square-foot shopping complex. Gelson’s anchors the area, neighbored by In-N-Out Burger, Yogurtland, and Starbucks, as well as a vet clinic, hair salon, and boutique, Westar records show.

It’s the latest announcement in Luna Grill’s aggressive growth strategy for the near future. What Now has covered several upcoming locations expected to pop up across the nation next year, from here in SoCal to expansions in Arizona and Texas.

“We have 55 current restaurants right now, and the plan is to grow within existing markets as well as new states,” Grenham said. “We’re hoping to open at least 12 units next year, so one per month.”

Luna Grill has been around for more than two decades, founded in San Diego. Its mission is to offer nutritious and flavorful food with a convenient approach. All dishes are made fresh to order from non-GMO, grass-fed, and cage-free proteins.
