Tustin is gearing up for its highly anticipated opening of a new brunch concept called Almuerzo Café. City records show the business is preparing for operations at 15761 Tustin Village Way, Ste 101, near the 55 and 5 freeway interchange.
Focusing on traditional and modern breakfast, brunch, and lunch options, Almuerzo Café will offer freshly baked Mexican pastries and specialty dishes, cooked from scratch. Guests can look forward to hearty dishes such as chilaquiles, steak and eggs, and French toasts, along with specialty coffees, margaritas, mimosas, and micheladas.
Owned by Fernando Valencia Sr., the restaurant marks his fourth venture in the food industry. He started catering in the 90s and went on to open a business in Santa Ana in the early 2000s, Mariscos Valencia Market. His son, Fernando Valencia Jr,. will be the Chief Operating Officer of Almuerzo Café.
Valencia Jr. told What Now OC that construction should be wrapping up in the next few weeks and that a liquor license has been approved. They are getting ready to start the hiring process for servers, dishwashers, and cooks, and details will be posted on the cafe’s social media pages.
The restaurant will be located in a 2,124 square-foot space within a 15,210 square-foot commercial building. It will feature booths and tables, as well as bar seating, and plans are in place to expand the existing patio. Hours of operation will be 6:30 AM to 9:00 PM every day of the week, zoning documents state.
