Cousins Barrett Gomes and Brenden Scanlan, owners of Sauced BBQ & Spirits, plan to open a seventh location in Newport Beach, at 13122 Jamboree Road. The space formerly housed Famous Dave’s BBQ, which closed in April. The Orange County Health Agency Environmental Health Division received a plan from the Sauced owners on September 27.

Gomes and Scanlan, who hail from Pleasanton, California and Atlanta, Georgia respectively, shared a longtime dream of opening a restaurant, which was realized in 2012, when the duo opened their first location in Livermore.

According to the company’s website, the Sauced goal is to “always provide excellent food, creative cocktails, and an unmatched southern charm and ambience.” The Sauced all-day menu, which varies according to location, includes a variety of sandwiches, barbecued spareribs, chicken dishes, and more. Guests can sip classic cocktails such as margaritas, martinis, hurricanes, and old-fashioneds.

The chain has since expanded to include five additional California locations in El Segundo, Livermore, Orange, Sacramento, San Jose-Santana Row, and Walnut Creek.
