Newport Beach will be getting a new fine dining destination when Ocean 48 comes to town. The concept, according to permits with the city, is coming to 151 Newport Center Drive at Fashion Island.
If the name rings a bell, that’s because Ocean 48 is the work of Prime Steak Concepts, a national powerhouse in steak and seafood. These folks are the hitmakers behind restaurants like Steak 44, Steak 48, Dominic’s Steak House, and Ocean 44.
According Oliver Badgio, the group’s Chief Brand Officer, details and dates are still sparse for Ocean 48, it stands to reason the restaurant will bare some similarity to the group’s Ocean 44 outpost in Arizona. Think raw bar, cuts of fine fish, ample sides, and some prime steaks, too.
Ocean 48 will be a headline addition to the diverse slate of offerings at Fashion Island, one of the regions premier shopping destinations. With food ranging from Five Guys to Sushi Roku, along with stores like Balenciaga and Barnes and Noble, Ocean 48 will fit right in.
