Rapidly growing bagel brand PopUp Bagels has made big leaps lately in its expansion efforts. The company, which currently only has locations on the East Coast, will open a number of stores in California, including some in Orange County, according to Bake Magazine.

A new franchise group has signed on to open 25 locations in the Southern California region, spanning multiple counties. But specific details on the status of the locations, where they are, and how many will be in Orange County are unknown at this time.

James Marzouk is the head of the hospitality group that has exclusive rights to oversee the development of these OC new locations. He founded Sweetzer Capital to be the entity in charge of operations, and has a background in investments and real estate transactions, according to the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate.

PopUp Bagels was founded by Adam Goldberg in 2020 in Westport, Connecticut, and has since grown into a boutique bagel franchise in the Northeast. The company is known for its fresh, hot bagels with a crisp crust and soft interior, served unsliced.
