Enrico and Daniela Pozzuoli, the owners of Tustin’s Pozzuoli Winery, are planning to open Centro, at 208 E Chapman Avenue, according to plans submitted to the City’s planning commision.
Centro is said to be a “hybrid” of the owners’ two restaurants in Tustin complete with a full-service cafe, pizzeria, and Italian restaurant, all occupying the same space, a Letter of Explanation outlines — In addition to its winery, the Pozzuoli family is behind micro brewery Centro – Archaic Craft Brewery, an existing Centro, as well as Storico which specializes in fresh pasta dishes and grilled meats.
The Cafe will offer handmade coffee and espresso drinks, Italian Gelato and serve fresh pastries daily. The restaurant will be authentic Italian with a variety of fresh pasta dishes, Neapolitan style pizza and grilled meat dishes. There will be counter seating for cafe visitors and “flexible table seating” for restaurant guests.
“We often get compliments from our customers about how our family works together everyday,” the Pozzuoli family said in the letter. “We love it and would not have it any other way. All four of our children work in our family business and each contribute to its success. We are a passionate family when it comes to food, service, and people. We give everything 100 percent and treat all of our employees and customers like a part of our family. We are very excited about this new venture and feel very fortunate to have found this beautiful space and the very nice and gracious owner Mr. Al Ricci. We look very much forward to being a part of Old Town Orange.”
