Porto’s Bakery and Cafe, a SoCal icon, will be coming to Downtown Disney. The brand is taking over the former La Brea Bakery space at 1556 Disneyland Dr.

Founded in in 1976, on Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park by Rosa Porto, Porto’s has become an L.A. mainstay. The brand currently operates locations in Burbank, Downey, West Covina, Buena Park, Glendale, and Northridge.

Porto’s serves a wide range of scratch made sweet and savory goods. Favorites include the famous Potato Balls, croquetas, cakes, and a whole bunch of breads. Whether it’s for a fast casual-meal or a take home selection for a gathering, Porto’s knows exactly how to please a Southern California crowd.

The restaurant will be replacing another SoCal icon in La Brea Bakery. The brand founded by Nancy Silverton and the late Mark Peel when the two ran Capanille (in what is now the Republique space), and now a far more corporate entity, has shuttered all its remaining storefronts to focus on the retail bread side of the business.
