Dark Magic Sushi is getting ready to cast a culinary spell on South County, after a successful run as a cloud kitchen. Posts from Old Town San Clemente announced last week that the sushi concept is gearing up to open a brick-and-mortar location at 111 Avenida Palizada, Suite #304.
The business previously operated as a late-night takeout spot in Anaheim. It offered delectable bites for pickup and delivery through third-party apps, on weekdays from 5 PM to 1 AM.
According to a post in a local group, the restaurant’s chef, Levi R., is a former member of the team at Muse Sushi, a popular establishment once located on Del Mar (it has since relocated to Laguna Niguel).
Social media pages for Dark Magic Sushi announced this week that the brand is actively hiring for servers, sushi chefs, and kitchen helpers as they prepare for the launch. Permits are active with the Orange County Health Department, but the agency’s site has been down, so the status of the project is unclear.
All other details about the venue are under wraps. The publication reached out to the company for comment but did not receive a response.
