Shake Shack is set to become a prominent figure in the Huntington Beach food scene soon. The eatery will be opening a store at 20100 Brookhurst St. at some point this year, OC Register reports.

This move comes as part of Shake Shack’s ambitious plan to expand its footprint across Orange County. The chain also announced upcoming stores in Brea and Costa Mesa coming in 2024. Currently, the county’s only location is at Irvine Spectrum.

City records show the project involves repurposing an existing 7,000-square-foot office to make way for a modern 3,415-square-foot establishment, with 1,482 square feet of outdoor patio dining, and a drive-thru lane.

Shake Shack started out as a hot dog cart in Madison Square Park more than 20 years ago. It has now grown into a global sensation with over 400 locations worldwide. The menu showcases custard shakes, delectable burgers, fries, and other classics.
