Dana Point is poised to say goodbye to one watering hole, but soon after, welcome a new one to town. StillWater Spirits and Sounds, 24701 Del Prado Ave, has closed, and small-batch distillery and brewery Shelter Distillery will be the new tenant moving in, the OC Register reports.

November 2nd was StillWater’s last day in business, after over a decade serving the community.  The speakeasy-style venue was known for live music and hosting community events. Damian Collins, owner of that establishment, is working on a new venture in Capo Beach, Picket Fence Media claims.

Shelter Distillery first launched in Mammoth in 2017, and has since grown to also open two locations in the Colorado mountain town of Montrose. It was co-founded by Matt Hammer, Karl Anderson, and Jason Senior. Hammer told What Now OC they expect to open sometime next spring.

The Dana Point location will not feature onsite distilling, but will have a kitchen and serve food. Shelter Distillery has an impressive lineup of spirits, including whiskey, bourbon, gin, agave, liqueurs, rums, limoncello, and an absinthe-inspired drink. It also produces craft beers and canned cocktails, its website says.
