Shootz, a California-based comfort food restaurant known for its Asian-inspired dishes, is getting ready to open a new location in Irvine at The Canopy at Great Park.
The company’s sixth location will be part of the 12-acre retail and dining destination being developed by Almquist, according to The Los Angeles Times. WhatNow previously reported on a handful of new tenants announced for the upcoming development; the LA Times has revealed even more, including JJANG Yakiniku, Social House, The Taco Stand, Rylee + Cru, Free People Movement, and Sol Studio. While an exact opening date has not yet been announced, the center is expected to open in late 2026. Shootz joins a growing list of food and beverage tenants planned for the project, including Philz Coffee, Osen Urban Table, and In-N-Out Burger.
Shootz currently operates several locations across Southern California, including Long Beach, Ontario, San Juan Capistrano, Stanton, and Whittier. The Irvine opening will mark the brand’s sixth location and another step in its regional growth. Known for its casual approach and focused menu, the restaurant has built a following around its fusion of Asian flavors and comfort food staples.
The menu features a range of plates, sandwiches, and musubi options, including Kimchi Butter Katsu Chicken and Kimchi Butter Shrimp, served with rice and macaroni salad. Other offerings include Spam Brûlée Musubi, sandwiches topped with kimchi aioli, and a selection of house-made sides. Beverage options include flavored lemonades and teas, as well as fountain drinks.
The Canopy at Great Park is planned as a 12-acre experiential retail and dining destination in Irvine, bringing together a mix of restaurants, retail, and fitness concepts. Almquist, the developer behind the project, has previously worked on River Street Marketplace and Rodeo 39 Public Market. The development will also be anchored by T&T Supermarket, a Canadian-based Asian grocery chain expanding into the U.S. market.
