Costa Mesa will be getting a unique destination when Slashers Axe Throwing & Ales comes to town. According to owner Madison Rhoades, the team at Slashers is hoping to open at 1941 Newport Boulevard sometime in the fall or winter of 2023.

The nearly 30,000-square-foot complex will house a unique spin on the classic axe throwing concept, with immersive sets, special effects, and unique games, inspired by the classic, campy slasher genre.

Husband-and-wife team Madison and Luke Rhodes are no strangers to the kooky and macabre. The pair also operate Cross Roads Escape Games in Anaheim.

Of course, as the name suggests, Axe throwing isn’t all that’s on the bill at Slashers. The bar area (spooky themes, of course) will feature a selection of brews and bites.
