Small’s Smash Club, a Southern California burger-focused restaurant, is getting ready to open its new location in Laguna Beach at 2794 S Pacific Coast Hwy.
The company’s second location will take over the former home of Dizz’s As Is, which closed permanently on March 13, 2026, according to the OC Register. Dizz’s was operated by the Pitz family for over 40 years and was known for its eclectic decor and continental menu featuring dishes like rack of lamb, surf and turf, and raspberry duck. Small’s Smash Club will retain the existing bar and liquor license, feature ocean views, and serve its signature smash burger menu alongside a full bar. An exact opening date has yet to be announced.
Founded by professional snowboarder Jordan Small, Small’s Smash Club began as a backyard operation during the COVID-19 pandemic before opening its first brick-and-mortar location in San Clemente in 2025. WhatNow Orange County previously reported on the San Clemente launch, noting that the pop-up and catering business built a loyal following across Southern California through appearances at local breweries.
The Laguna Beach location will continue the brand’s focus on smash burgers, beef tallow fries, and onion rings, paired with craft beer and wine offerings. The restaurant will provide a casual, energetic setting for diners, with ocean views enhancing the experience.
The opening of Small’s Smash Club adds to Laguna Beach’s evolving dining scene following Dizz’s closure, joining other upcoming expansions, including Truly Pizza’s second location later in 2026. The restaurant’s combination of coastal views, high-quality burgers, and a lively bar setting is expected to appeal to both longtime locals and visiting food enthusiasts.
