As part of a significant development project, downtown Cathedral City is expecting a new shopping plaza. Starbucks will be one of the new tenants at the $20 million Cathedral Cove Center, at the intersection of CA-111 and Date Palm Dr.

According to KESQ, the 13.5-acre site where development is happening is part of efforts to revitalize the city. An Agua Caliente casino is across the street from the pending site.

Four other businesses are expected in addition to Starbucks: Chipotle, Farmer Boys, and Circle K convenience store and gas station. Several buildings are still available for lease and leases are pending for Jersey Mike’s and an AT&T store.

There are four existing Starbucks in Cathedral City already, however, those are to the west and the north of this site. It’s right off the busy State Route 11, which passes through Indio, La Quinta, Indian Wells, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, and Cathedral City.
