Japanese cheesecake and coffee café Uncle Fluffy, known for its ultra-soft, jiggly desserts, is preparing another Orange County opening. The brand will be expanding to Costa Mesa, opening a store at 1870 Harbor Blvd, L1-105, according to Greer’s OC.

The Costa Mesa store has been moving through the Orange County Health Care Agency’s plan-review process. Records show a series of updates over the last few months: plans were received in May but marked “unable to approve” the following month. Revisions were then submitted by the company in September, and those were subsequently approved two weeks later.

Uncle Fluffy was first opened as a family business in Riverside. The company then expanded to Huntington Beach earlier this year, which What Now OC covered. The owner of that store, Rafik Hanna, is also the operator of the Costa Mesa store.

Its menu centers on its light, jiggly Japanese cheesecake, offered in various sizes and gluten-free options. Guests can also choose from tarts in multiple flavors, macarons, mochi, smoothies, espresso drinks, and matcha-based beverages. The company notes that its desserts are made fresh using traditional Japanese techniques and premium ingredients.
